Why Use OfficeSync®?

"Electronically sending and receiving files has helped us be more efficient and quickly provide client service. For example, on construction staking projects, the designed tie-in points, whether on underground utilities or on roadway surfaces, do not always match the actual existing conditions. The software allows our survey crews to as-built or topo the existing conditions and send the information to the engineers for redesign. The engineers send the revised information back to the crews, who then finish the staking the same day. This comes in especially handy when the project is out of town, as the transferring of data electronically eliminates transposing of numbers, etc. that can happen over the phone."

"We looked at a variety of different options to outfit our field crews. Our criteria was that the solution had to be cost effective, rugged, and most of all user-friendly. We tested and evaluated cell phones, Blackberries, wireless PDAs, and even laptops with air cards. All these worked, but none really met our criteria. Data plans were too expensive, equipment costs high, equipment was not rugged enough to stand up to the environment, or the process was too involved with FTP sites or moving data between data collector and email. It wasn't until we evaluated OfficeSync by MicroSurvey did we find a package that met all our requirements."

OfficeSync enabled us to respond immediately on a recent construction staking job.  During the middle of the day we received a request to stake changes to a parking lot. We were able to calculate the changes in the office while the closest field crew was rerouted to the jobsite.  Within an hour of the phone call the crew was on site staking the revised curbing.

"Sometimes our crew is in Atlanta, and the builder we are working for needs a plat to show a local inspector that his forms are set accurately before he pours the slab. With OfficeSync, our crew can locate the forms and send the data to the office, where we prepare the plat and email a PDF file to the builder. Without this, it would be the next day before we could prepare the plat."

OfficeSync is easy to use and set up -- in less than a day, our field crews and office staff were able to integrate OfficeSync and our work systems with no interruptions .

We do a lot of construction and mortgage surveys. OfficeSync allows us to meet the time constraints of customer's in ways none of our competitors can compete with. In fact, OfficeSync has helped get us work we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.

"We have used OfficeSync about 5 times this month to send files between the field and office. On one job that was time sensitive, our field crews were able to send the survey data and field notes directly from their data collector to our office. This allowed us to make a filing deadline without the crew traveling over an hour. On another occasion, we were able to send our crew out to the field ahead of the calculations for their data collector. We then sent calculations while the crew was in transit, thereby saving 30 minutes of billable time."

"I had a telephone call from the field crew who were laying out engineered building pads on one of our project sites and they were telling me that the road design from that mornings upload to the RTK did not appear to be working correctly when doing some of our standard checks.  This construction site is in full production with several Rock Trucks, Belly Scraper and Packing Machines moving engineered material into this area.  I immediately re-calced the information, sent it via OfficeSync to the field crew and within 10 minutes of their original phone call, they were staking out the building pads.  There was virtually no loss of production time for the field crew and best of all, no loss in production time for the road building crews.  This “first” time using OfficeSync saved between one and a half to two hours of time for the field crew and it also “saved” face for my company.
